Helmut Marko expressed disappointment after the Austrian Grand Prix, stating that Red Bull’s performance made it difficult to compete for the championship. Although Marko’s comment referred to McLaren’s dominance, it also applied to Red Bull’s own underwhelming showing at their home track in Spielberg. Max Verstappen acknowledged the team’s shortcomings and emphasized the need for improvement in various areas. Red Bull’s challenges include a lack of outright pace, a narrow operating window for the RB21, and difficulties with tyre management compared to McLaren. Despite upcoming updates, solving these issues quickly remains a significant challenge for Red Bull in the Formula 1 season.
